There are a multitude of websites that provide access to a wide range of digital media resources (images, video and audio) covering many subject areas. This can be very bewildering if you are searching for specific resources to include in learning packages for use in the lecture/classroom or for inclusion in a virtual learning environment. The purpose of this paper is to provide links to a number of such websites.
We have divided the links into several categories (stock images, architecture, the arts, current affairs, history, maps, science and medicine). Please note, this is not intended to be a fully inclusive list and neither are the links listed in any order of preference.
These links were checked to be correct in April 2009. You are reminded that websites are subject to change and that, even though the links are checked regularly by JISC Digital Media staff, we cannot guarantee all the links will be available at any particular time. Please let us know if you find a broken link. We may also add new links to this list during the checking process.
