Audio Feedback is the eighth advice document in our series of ten. It provides an introductory guide to using digital audio files as a method of communicating feedback to students alongside, or as a replacement to traditional text based feedback.

With the completion of the Sounds Good JISC-funded research project, and the success of last year's A Word in your Ear event in Sheffield, audio feedback is becoming more commonly used in education, and this document presents considerations based on published research and answers some initial questions you may find yourself asking, such as 'What are the drawbacks?', and 'What technical knowledge do I need to know?'

Audio Feedback will be followed by our Audio Feedback How-to Guide, with step-by-step instructions on creating and embedding audio feedback files into student assignments.
