The ‘College of Production’ site, recently launched by the BBC, aims to provide practical advice on all aspects of TV, radio and online production, and looks set to become an asset to educational practitioners as well as its target audience - trainee broadcasters.
The site offers content covering all areas of TV and radio production. Broadcasting innovators, creatives and experts freely share their experience in over 100 short podcasts - providing practical advice on diverse subjects, from health and safety to self shooting, editing and interviewing.
Content can be adapted to support a range of academic subjects, the videos can be embedded within VLE’s, and the supporting text is useful, if brief. Practical tips on production processes will be valuable to self-shooters as well as those seeking to commission external providers, and careers advisors will also find the ‘TV job profile’ section of use.
